Landform is hiring an Associate Attorney

Reach out to Kate.

Kate Hambley

Attorney

Kate is a litigator to her core. In a bizarre twist, she’s also a nice person.

  • Kate excels at spotting issues before they become problems. Her ability to chart a course of action immediately, execute on that course, and pivot when circumstances change make her an indispensable contribution to any team. Her keen mind and an approachable style of communication make her an effective advocate at every level of the land use process, from the planning board to the courtroom. While litigation is never her first choice, Kate has litigated dozens of land use cases, and she knows how to get results when push comes to shove.

Eric Larsson

Of Counsel

Eric is an excellent land use attorney who would rather be riding his bike than overbilling your case.

  • Eric looks at all angles of a project, from design to land use regulation to financing, and gives clients sound legal advice that holds up in the real world. His extensive policy and regulatory experience gives him unique insight on how to guide a project through permitting and defend it on appeal.

Eric received his JD from New York University School of Law. He is a graduate of Earlham College where he majored in Mathematics. He also received a Masters in Policy Planning and Management from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine, where he focused on land use modelling.

Eric brings a wide variety of experience to his practice. He has worked as a consulting project manager in the telecommunications industry where he secured, permitted, and oversaw the development of sites for wireless carriers in more than a dozen states. He was the program manager of a housing development fund corporation that acquired and redeveloped hundreds of homes for low and moderate-income first-time homebuyers. He served nine years on the Zoning Board of Appeals in the City of Portland, including two years as Chair, and has been an Acting Senior Planner for the Maine Land Use Planning Commission. Along the way he has published dozens of practice-oriented articles for Westlaw covering a range of land use topics

When he is not thinking about land use Eric is riding a bicycle or taking a nap.

Eric Din

CEO

Eric is an engineer by training (and by nature) whose penchant for entrepreneurship brought him to Landform.

  • Eric augments the small but mighty Landform legal team with his background in business entrepreneurship and project and people management. Eric’s goal is to apply sound business and engineering principles to the world of law—a notoriously siloed and opaque industry. Eric is constantly working behind the scenes to make sure Landform delivers efficient, high-quality legal services and a streamlined client experience. His day-to-day errands include anything from running to the courthouse to managing complex litigation.

In addition to his role as Landform’s CEO, Eric also acts as owner’s representative and development consultant for Landform clients.

Eric has a B.A. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Dartmouth College, where he spun out a startup from his research. He grew the company to five people on National Science Foundation grant funding before exiting successfully. Most recently, he worked as a Staff Engineer in Tesla’s battery cell manufacturing department.

In his spare time, he is working on turning a hundred sheets of plywood into cabinets so he can fit his project car in the garage again.
